And the s1 in the link was just a trial fit as the plates hadn't been welded in yet.

Good news:

Just spoke to the chap who did the group buy for Rallye Reg

He is still more than willing to do another group buy

He's going to get us a price for 5 and a price for 10

He's going to get a price for all the options available too so that will include either single door bar or the double crossed and the additional diagonal on the main B pillar hoop behind t

Welding in the plates wouldn't be too hard or costly to do really - I'm sure some of the geronimo cages that were produced just had the cage bolted in through a plate. The plate wasn't welded to the chassis at all.

I think welding the plate on is the safest bet

That's Lewisimo's (Hank's old one) See he welded the plates then had the shell sprayed.

Good news on the cage front though

Does the Saxo rear cage mount to the rear arches ?

And the 106 one mount to the boot floor at the rear arch/floor join ?

Ill ask about that when they call me back with prices.

Whether or not the design has changed a bit over time as from those pics its from 2008 where the B pillar bar is horizontal and not diagonal which they are now.

Id rather have mine mounted to the boot floor i think rather than the arches if possible, if it meant me going for the 106 one and trimming my dash that wouldnt bother me although im sure all sections will be interchangeable to use (if there is any difference) a 106 rear section with a saxo front section or vice versa.

Ill make sure to ask all these questions to clarify

Yeh no worries, I think I'm with you on that one, I'd prefer to mount to the arch/floor join but I really don't know which is stronger?

I'm happy to cut my dash - that's no problem at all !

Would have thought that the section on the boot floor would be most beneficial for strength as its directly on the chassis section where the rear beam bolts to

Again this is a pic from Lewisimos cage when Hank had it fitted

^ ^ I like that location to bolt to - fingers crossed they do the saxo cage that bolts there.

Although tbh, with the 106/saxo shells being pretty much identical, having a 106 cage with the extra diagonal and having to trim the dash would suit me fine if they are cheaper etc.

I really want one but I dont want to put my name down in case i have to drop out, i dont want to let you guys down.

i have added another question though!

List of those who are interested, please add your names accordingly:

1. Willsy
2. raunchz
3. Mr_P

Questions that you would like asking, please list:

1. Does it dodge the dash?
2. What's your best price for a groupbuy - in all seriousness, what sort of bars can be added to the spec of the cage? Are there different variants of the 'Saxo' cage ?
3. Can the cage be powdercoated any colour we want or is there going to be extra costs?

I'm 99% sure they only come in matt black - would be pretty easy to get it blasted and then powdercoated yourself - worth an ask though
