Definitely unusual, I can't work out whether i think its cool or just a waste of time. Dunno if i could get in a gti and listen to the racket those engines make first thing on a winter morning though lol.

probably due to lag or something was up with the frontmount
"This car WILL need to be trailered by the winning bidder and you need to take into account how low it is.""
The only thing i can see stopping you from driving it back is no tax?
So why does it NEED trailering...

the bit about being tailored is a bit iffy :/ all i can see is it needing tax.
and i also have to wonder why hes done this?
its a nice job and a nice car, but the xud9 engine is poor compared to the HDi, and although you will get good economy from it i cant really see the point, even with its pipe and t2 it will still only be maybe 130bhp on a good day and it will deliver it like a diesel. the 16v gti lump would have been quicker and sounded so much better

I believe (from reading the threads on it) that the charge cooler was fitted under bonnet because a big fmic wouldn't fit behind the bumper. The xud was fitted because it needs sweet fa in the way of wiring, whereas the hdi would be a bottomless pit of nightmares in twrms of wiring. The xuds, with a big blower and pump work, can also deliver in excess of 200bhp on stock internals. On full boost, if it was turned up, I can see it spinning all the way through 1st, 2nd and 3rd, probably even 4 as well in the wet.
I'm doing the same conversion but in an S1 shell :-D

mmm, nice build, but all the work gone into it, and universal carpet mats?
would be better done to a flat arch imo

Flat arch 106's / saxos are the most disgusting looking ogres on the roads! Don't know why people bother with them.
