Smile Help needed...

...im a budding photographer and after some help.

Im going to the Fast and Modified show next weekend and im hoping to take some pics of the convoy on the way there...any tips?

I know to follow the object etc but how do i make sure the cars dont look like they are standing still.

My mum and dad bought me an Olympus e900 for my 21st and ive yet to muck around with it. I began to watch the dvd provided with the camera but i got lost half way through....help!

pan the shots so you follow the cars and they will look like they are moving. go to a busy road and practise

if you are travelling in the car as a passenger within the convoy then it is relatively simple, aslong as the car you are in and the one you are trying to photograph are traveling at a constant speed (ie staying the same distance apart) then you can take you shots as you would normally, however increase the exposure time so that you capture some movement. the easiest way to do this is to set the camera to aperture priority and in increase the F number untill you get the desired result ( ie change it from F4 to F16), beware that if the shutter is open too long you will get camera shake.
You dont need to pan with the car unless you are photographing the convoy from a stationary position
