remote cable ?????
hi , just hooked up my amp and sub but my alpine stereo dosent have a remote cable input at the back off the unit ..... can i wire it to anything else so that it comes on when i turn the stereo on ???
i dont really want to install a switch

does it have a wire for a power ariel? if not off the ignition line so it comes on when u turn ur key

no it dosent have an power ariel.

ive just looked at the back off my head unit and the yellow wire is the main power , so i just hook up that to the remote screw on my amp and it should switch on when the stereos on ?
am i right in saying that ?

my head unit didnt have a specific wire for the remote on the amp, its usally the blue wire from the iso block.... i had to snip the blue wire from the iso block and wire that seperatly to the amp.... hope this helps

just get a multi meter on it... turn the ignition on... if ithe wires 12v its good but make sure its 0 volts with the ignition off.... if it is use that one.

I can't understand why the headunit has not got a remote wire, is it a really basic headunit? So i guess it will not have any rca's connections at the back?

apart from the fact it will spark everytime u put it in, i wouldnt wana remember to go around to nthe boot with a fuse everytim i wanted to listen to music
