xbox will take it back with or without warrenty, counts as a call back, just ring them, and they arrange it to be picked up, then fix it, and you get a month free card

Mine had the RROD a month or so ago and it had ran out of its year warranty but i went onto the xbox live website and registered it and it said althought the warranty has expired they have extended the warranty to 3 years because of the common problem, so packed it up and sent it off, they send you a package label through email!

lol what a way to make the situation worse!! it may melt the graphics solders, but also everything else. also the processor will over heat and kill itself in no time at all. there is only one way to repair it.
give it to a computer technician with the ability to micro solder.
the xclamp rrod repair kits are a con aswell
