rep for PMs
i think it would be a good idea to be able to rep someone in the PrivateMessage screen.
as people can be a help outside of threads, and it saves time looking for one of their posts to rep them
discuss

Private messages are never ever ever read by admin on this site, unlike some other sites.
We wouldnt be able to police the rep if it was given through a private message without actually reading the private messages so its a no go im afraid dude users privacy is very important to us on here

its simple if somone gives you advice via pms. you just rep in a thread they are in, writing why you have given them rep.

as long as its something sensible i cant see why the mods would disagree.
if somoene has advised you on what gearbox to buy for example, if there is a gearbox thread at the same time, adding rep with a good reason that they have helped you i would think is acceptable personally.
