..and is a complete waste of money when you can bend it out of the way yourself.

I had frend who bent his steering bar,to save some pennies, and he was killed, when the bar snapped on his vts going into a corner.Life to short to be penny pinching.....
Ive got the modded steering bar on mine, much cheaper than paying out for power steering hoses?? And it takes about 20/30mins to fit new one,if your good with spanners.....

how far did he bend it because you only have to bend it a few mm, i bent mine and mines been fine for like nearly 5 year mate
am sure a lot more peoples are too, sorry for the loss of your friend but was the bending the pipe really to blame for it because this is the first ive heard of anybody dying over bending it ???

sorry to hear that mate. only thing that confuses me is even if it did snap when drivign the steering would still work would just be like driving a car with no power steering which would be easy and light to steer when moving just heavy & hard when parking. also un sure to why it snapped coz once its bent and out the way of obstruction there is nothing to cause it to rub anymore so thoretically its strenth wont change from the day it was orrigionaly bent unless something else gave way or wasnt bent enough to gain clearence

When you buy the spring it advises you on the steering pipes you just loosen the nut on it and slide it round out of the way i had this problem before christmas i got a new pipe for it for a fiver and moved it right round out of the way you need to be a contorsionist lol to do this as they are so f**king fiddly hope this is helpful

The modded bar i have is bent,so it misses the power steering pipes, and replaces the standard straight one coming out of the steeren rack,on the drivers side. But my frend bent the standard one on the car, which snapped under load.
Every time ive tryed bending me power steeren metal hose it snapped, that why i chose to replace the steeren rack bar for the modified one,its been spot-on since......

yeah i know what the modified pipe is they were avaliable a few years ago but its ok to bend the standard one. Just dont know how it snapped under load because the only load it gets is the flud pressure running inside it and just like i said before once its bent and out the way of obstruction there is nothing to cause it to rub anymore so thoretically its strenth wont change from the day it was orrigionaly bent unless something else gave way or wasnt bent enough to gain clearence, which imo is probably what happened that it wasnt bent enought causing it to rub a little every now and then that constituted to it snapping

I no you can bend the power steering pipes out the way. But you can also buy a solid steeren rack bar with bit of kink in it to.it goes from steeren rack to the outer suspension hub, think you call it track rod ,has ball joint on the end of it matey...tb....
I wii get picy of the modified steering arm,to show every one.It has part number on it,SAX041.

It's called a track rod end, and we know what it looks like, just as we know it's a rip off And as has already been said, you don't bend the steering rack or any steering parts, you bend the pipe an inch or so and it'll be fine, no to mention free
