Updating jailbroken iPhone?

I jailbroke my iPhone when it was ver 3.0 and havent updated since, but i do want to update now. What will happen if i update it now, will it brick it? Im not bothered about it being jailbroken cause i never use it and apparently to unjailbreak you have to delete everything and i don't want to do that :/

im pretty sure you'll lose all your non legitimate apps... only apps downloaded from itunes will stay on phone. it wont break your phone, you'll keep everything which is legit. a friend had spirit and he upgraded to 4.0 and his phone is fine, just his games that he downloaded from installous were lost. you might have a prob syncing with itunes as well if any apps that arent legit are on itunes as you need the repository appsync to resync your jailbroken apps... but until 4.0 has been jailbroken theres not much you can do. however i think its already been jailbroken but you need a mac to do it they havent released a windows jailbreak yet. just make sure you back everything up. if your not bothered about keeping stuff you've downloaded non legitimately then you'll be fine.
