Default First Track day any tips/prep work

hello all ,ive got my first trackday booked in a couple of weeks i was just wondering what everone does for insurance . Have i got too have any special type of cover or anything ? also any tips or what to check on the car?
Do you have to have a front tow eye on ?

Most companies don't cover it, so you bent it you mend it.

Either that or ring a specialist for track day cover.

Put the towing eye on before you go out on the track. Front normally but as long as its there then they can move it, hopefully they wont need to use it though.

Dont go out thinking you are gods gift to driving. Just take it steady, ask for advice, try and get someone who has experience or even an instructor out with you. They will improve your driving on track no end.

Check your brakes, fluids, and tyres. Make sure you remove all the crap you might have in the car from day to day driving.
Cds, shoes, junk, rubbish etc.

Finally dont be too nervous about quicker people, just make sure you keep aware of whats going on, try not to hold those quicker up, and enjoy your time out there.

When you are done look at your bank balance and wave it goodbye, its seriously addictive!

I have only done one haha so not loads of experience but all I would say is stay calm and don't go crazy haha

defo try get out with an instructor, even if its 30 odd quid, our 1st track day did 5/6 laps and racing line was crap etc, one instuctors saw us and asked if was 1st time out and if we would like a session with him (was bored shitless lol), took us out in his car showing us the marks etc etc then i took him out in my car, after couple laps with him, totali changed my driving rest the da and had so much more fun then if would carried on without it all day.
