no its a unbranded router.
the comp doc i used had it running off main comp when it was tunred off so i didn;t have to run 2 comps just to use one laptop if that makes sense.
really shit at this stuff and have basic knoledge of this shit

What router is it, & do you use a wireless program or are you using windows wireless manager? I fix hundreds of wireless problems everyday only time it can be a bastard is on windows vista when it connects local only

unbranded wireless router.
when i rung tiscali/talk talk she made me change setting which since then hasn;t worked.
i;ve since fiddled more with settings on router menu and can get the wireless connection but can;t secure it and says limited or no connectivity so basically doesn;t work. but still works on xbox but not on main comp either

You running windows 7?
You running the xbox wirelessly or through a cable?
You got any security on your wireless connection? - It will throw up this message if your inputting the code wrong, its case sensitive is where most people make mistakes.
It might be worth while resetting your router and starting again if the woman at talk talk has been making you changeloads of settings.
There should be a small reset button somewhere press that, then you will have to plug 1 pc in via cable and then set up the router, you should have had an installation cd or some log in details for the router so you can input your settings.
If your still Stuck PM me and ill try my best to help more

i ended up resetting router.
xbox is off ethernet cable.
can get wireless to send now but on laptop its says no or low connectivity.
won;t allow me to put a password on the wireless signal refuses to alow it.
now managed to get internet to work with xbox and limited on main pc, limited as in too slow for nte but can recieve a few emails at a time.
can;t get my head round this at all read thro the cd user manual but it doesn;t really help. i do remember the comp guy who originally installed it had a few problems with it somewhere. no i;m totally fucked with it

IIRC Talk Talk use Belkin or D-Link routers but as said they don't have obvious branding on them (Ex had Talk Talk) If you look on the back / bottom of the router, somewhere there will be a model number of some sort. What is it?
Drop me a PM buddy as i have an idea

no its a def unbranded router that the comp doc brought for me at time cos wireless wasn;t that popular at time more or less just out.
only thing on box is wireless adsl+gateway model wbr-t2
i have gone into settings cleared all original setting that talk talk told me to change and started a fresh to the things i can do. but won;t let me add password and won;t run main comps net or wireless to laptop. but..... if its unsecured i can get full signal and use net on laptop

Ok, know i know that its made by Plexus. Having a read up on it, it does seem that there are known problems with this router being slow, difficult to setup and then unreliable once going.
I take it that it looks like this:

Typical of ISP's tbh, they don't want to put the blame on their network. I had the exact same problems with BT who kept trying to blame me for the connection drop-outs i was having. Eventually got a mate round who's a BT engineer and it turned out to be a fault in the box at the end of the road!
Have a look in the menus for an option to update the firmware on the router. After a bit of reading this tended to help others out. You may need to download the new one to your PC first before updating the router

no worries pal, if it wasn't for the fact I'm stuck in bed atm, I'd offer to come down and sort it as you're not exactly a million miles away from me. I work with networks and computers most of the time when i'm not at work as a bit of work on the side (if that makes sense )
Fell free to throw up a question. If i don't know the answer straight away, i'll go and find it out!
