depends on connections you've got, has your laptop and tv got hdmi connections?
if not then has it got vga connections? more than likely has if its a newish tv.
search vga if you're not sure what it is.
hope this helps.

If it doesnt work you will need to press function button and F8 to switch it over
it will say lcd on one of the F keys
i currently have a dvi to hdmi connection, thing is youll also need an audio cable 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack, probablies cost you about 15 quid for some decent ones
all depends on what connections you have on computer and tv though

You got S-Video out on your pc and in on your TV, its a round one with 7 round pins and one flat pin, very similar to a 'PS2' connection (and by that I dont mean PlayStation 2) lol

If it's an old rear projection TV I wouldn't bother.

Your laptop and TV both have HDMI? - You need to extend your desktop onto that screen.

This is very true. I tried it out of curiosity and the quality was shocking, all the text was unreadable.

Just a black screen with nothing on it other than the TV channel name.

hows it connecting from pc to tv ?, and can you see the tv on the pc when you check display properties, have you set it so that the pc screen display is duplicated to the 2nd screen (the tv).

Usually when connecting your PC/Laptop to a TV via VGA you need to press the source button on the TV remote until you locate the PC (VGA) visual channel.
PC's usually display right away, but a laptop you will have to press the required key combination to tell the laptop your using an external display. Not always Function key and F8 BTW! Depends on model/make.

If your conecting via HDMI then make sure that the resolution is not higher than 1920 x 1080 for full hd or 1920 x 720 for hd ready tv if its vga check the max resolution think its something like 8000 x 600 for tv's if its svideo no idea lol, if you dont have any you can try and get hold of a vga to scart
Can you confirm what port it has?
just noticed tom has not replied yet?
