I know very little about it all...
But a mate of mine uses FinalCut (it may be a mac only peice of software though?!)
and if you get really good at using it...
i guess quality of filming / the equiptment you have plays a big part too.

Good vids!
I did a quick google, but the descriptions were very breif and didnt really give any examples of what they can produce, I went for the Cyberlink Powerdirector Deluxe. It got the most stars lol no description though or review!
Got a HD camera so will produce video to the same spec as my first link!

Ok just had a very quick play with it and it does what I want, can control the speed of videos, trim down videos, and basic effects and transitions aswell and adjusting colours and brightness levels.

adobe after effects is pretty good too, there are loads of plug ins out there
