If you don't want to write your own scripts there's some free ones, a v.popular 1 is OsCommerce:

googling open source shopping carts should get you a few results.. paypal has a shopping basket style application too but you'd have to do a fair bit of integrating into your site.

You could use 2Checkout, with uses Paypal & Google Checkout. It's a lot easier to integrate than OSCommerce/Zen-Cart etc.
