how do you set windows media player as default/main player when you open links on vista
Anyone no how 2 set windows media player are your main player for/when you open links.ive only done it on XP and stuff but never needed 2 do it on vista and its notjing the same as doing it on XP
sorry if this is the wrong section but seemed the best one for it

Click the start ball and you should have default programs there. Set WMP to the default for whatever file format you want.

aye mate i done that but its didnt seem 2 work when you click on default programs it brings up:
set your default programs
associate a file type or protocol with a program
change autoplay settings
set program access and computer defaults
think it was the first one i clicked on

Go to "associate a file type or protocol with a program" and it will list every single file type and what application is associated with it and give you an option to change them.

Easier way would be find the file NOT associated with wmp, right click it and go "open with.." Now select windows media player and make sure the box below is ticked "always open this type of file with this program".

If he's opening a URL and not a file that won't work but that's the easiest way by far for a file.
