Default my saxo wont idle properly :wall:

my saxo's little issues :

1. it wont idle properly,it gets really annoying tbh.

2. petrol goes down quickish,not normal in imo.

3. fitted my new fan belt yesterday(alternator 1),it makes a whistle noise.

my answers,but not sure if im correct

1. petrol filter ?

2. no idea ?

3.belt to tight ?

to sort out ur idle you may need new idle control which can be purchase don ebay for under 30 pounds and fitted by any garage for about 25 .

When it idles does the rev counter go up and down and nearly stall? Could be your coolant temp sensor or ICV. 2 is the same as 1 as it would cause over fueling.

3 is probably the belt is too tight.

If the belt is making the whistleing noise the belt is probs on too tight

Try cleaning the idle control valve to see if this changes things

i had the same problem mate with the idleing, thought it was the idle valve and it turned out to be a shitly fitted cam belt and blew my engine up. check that yours is lined up correctly

i had a idle problem - i cleaned the idle control valve and no difference. turned out to be the lambda sensor in the manifold was faulty. causing the car to overfuel and cause to funny idle.
