106 owners seem to think that their cars are worth 10x more than vts's
comical really.

i agree tbh
before i got my vtr i wanted a quicksilver.. for a half decent one you were looking at around £2k or more
got my vtr for £1k, and allthough not the best example, i havnt really had a major problem with it
allthough id still like a 106gti

Aren't they, like, exactly the same car... except the VTS is simply newer?

why is vts newer?
both ended production at 53plate
and not all vts are newer than gti
depends which age you go for

different ARB plus gti has leather.
about it other than the fact if you drive a 106gti it automatically means its better than a vts (according to the owners lol)

I mean development and production-wise. Saxo is technically a newer car than the 106... I seem to remember the 106 being introduced in 1991/1992, and the Saxo was 1996 or something unless the 106 and Saxo were co-developed for the 106's revisions to be released the same time as the new Saxo... or maybe I'm just overcomplicating things.

same car basically
and the 106 facelift was introduced at same time mk1 saxo was introduced.
they did upgrade the 106 (airbagged seats etc) around the same time as mk2 saxo, but kept the same shape, so cant tell difference

106 GTi is a lovely little hot-hatch, but if you can make do without the leather a VTS does pretty much the same job at less money.

similar opinion to me
sometimes i prefer the look of the mk1 vt* though.. sometimes the pug
the interior of the pug is better imo though, had one before (1.1) and preferd the layout
the pug also rattled nowhere near as much as my saxo, and it just generally just felt better built

i used to have a saxo vtr but loved the shape of the 106 gti so went for that.it was that or a vts really. i think they look bit chunkier so thats why i like them, tue low milage ones are hard to find especially in white/yellow/black..

I got mine with 43 on the clock for 2k like, which aint to bad considering 106's seem to go for more than the saxo equivalent which is stupid really.
Deffo recommend one.
