Default Posi mk2 vtr run around

I was after a cheap vtr to use as a run around so i was looking for mk1s sub £1k.

This mk2 popped up localy so i expected the body work to be shocking and bloody high miles with a few mechanical problems.

Only had to drive 20 miles to view it, body work was alot better than i thought, only has a couple of marks which need attention. Its only done 69k and its Hpi clear with tax and test.

Mechanicaly, the guy was honest and said the gearbox is making horrible noises. Took it for a test drive and it wasnt very happy. 1st, 2nd and 3rd all made noises so i think its the layshaft bearing thats nackered. I have 2 box's to choose from at home so its no biggy.

Anyway, the deal was done and i bought it. Gave it a bit of a clean yesterday.

Had a 106 GTi interior in the garage so i popped that in with the black piller plastics. While all the seats were out i hoovered the shit out of it, come up pretty well tbh.

The 2 bits of body work that need attention

Looks like Zorro has had ago at the bonnet (last owners x girl friend more like)

Scuff mark

Got a friend that owns a body shop and hes going to sort it all for me for mates rates which is a bonus. Should be sorted by easter if he can fit me in.

As for the gearbox, i have just got a new clutch kit and its going in with my 1.4 xsi box so it should make it quite fun to drive compared to a normal vtr box.

Not a great deal mate. As long as you are prepared to do a bit of work to a cheap car then you cant go wrong

Looks quite good for less than £1000. Just needs some TLC and it'll be a beaut.

For a 'run around' its pretty smart, would be nice without the damage to the bonnet nad bumper!
