Default Euro Saxo (Way im going)

Hi Guys

Had my car a couple of months now and having sorted some of the war wounds out i thought I would make a plan list and a thread.

So i got my car on 115k off a mate of mine for 300 quid. It needed tax and it was on the road. I taxed it to orginally use it as a run around untill i got my money through from my aaccident to buy an Altezza, but my love for saxos came back and i decided to keep it

This is how it looked as standard, sorry for img quality.

its a 2-tone grey VTR and apart form the black VTS wheels to which i took off my old 306 HDI and sold to my mate, and a K&N Panel filter is was comp=letely standard and had a lot of war wounds.

Some of the war wounds consisted of:
  • Bust Wing
  • Lobsided front bumper
  • Drivers VTR panel Missing

My Plans are as follows:

Body
Mk2 to Mk1 conversion
Widemouth Front
Custom Bonnet
Smooth Fogs
Widemouth Grille
Colour Scheme of Matte Sky Blue Body with colour coded strips, White Roof, White Wheel,
Lowered 60mm on front with back to match
14” Banded Steels with Sky Blue centre and White Lip
Angel Lights
Pug style rears
Smoothed Boot

Engine
JP4 Conversion
Newman Cams
Full cold air induction kit
Raceland 4-2-1 Manifold
Saxsport Centre and Backbox
Omex System
Contemplating turbo but unsure yet.

Suspension
Ghaz shocks and springs with rear dampers
Polybushes all round including engine and gearbox mounts

Interior
Going black and white on the interior.
White Heater surrounds
Pug 306 Meridian Half Leather Front seats with fabric in centre redone in white
Rear stipped out for Back Build.
Centre console modified to fit in double din.
Aftermarket Steering wheel with White centre
Plasma Dials

ICE
Double din Head unit.
2 x 18Inch Bass Tubes running parallel down the side of the car
1 x 2500 JBL Amp in centre of car
Fronts upgraded to JBL with Independent Amps to the back of the car.
Fake floor risen up to boot level to hide all the wiring underneath
Leisure battery at back being charged with alternator Hidden behind a step.

Some plans might change but ill keep you updated

So i drove it round like this for a while untill i started modding it a little. I bought and smoked some lexarse lights off a friend and put them on, and got rid of the standard backbox and put a Peco Box on and dewipered the back.

at that point in looked like this.

I then went to a Paul walker Tribute Meet where my Girlfriend won a free full car plasti dip and gave it to me so i thought im going to have to think of something now.

So at that point i was contemplating colour schemes, body style. I decided to go down the Euro route as i euroed my old HDI and it looked epic.

But me being me im not a massive fan of the mk2 front. so i had to do a mk2 to mk1 front end conversion.

So to start my euro off, i got rid of my massive peco box, mainly because it was too big for the car and stuck out the back but also because i wanted something to sit nicely in the exhaust cut out. I also got myself some Clear MRs with the Pugstyle red strip and a nice remus backbox.

At that point the car looked like this.

This is how it looked up untill the weekend just gone

This weekend ive been really busy with the car. My girlfriend got me a full green front end and a VTR kit for our anniversary (Ventian Green i think) so i thought this is the weekend i do the conversion. So i started at about 11am sunday. and stipped the car down pretty much.

Whilst the slam panel was off i decatted the car (I plan to convert the engine as well so didnt see the point in a 4-2-1 manifold) Once we got the niggly bits done we got to rebuilding her back up with the Mk1 Front end.

Once we got all the lights in and everything was virtually alligned we stuck the bonnet on, wheels back on and took her for a spin. Let me tell you that Decatting first off makes fuck all difference apart from a deeper exhaust note (if anything i think my car has lost power) so ill be getting a 4-2-1 i think.

I was mainly happy with the conversion though, i dont know how many Mk2 to Mk1 conversions have actually been done, but i absolutely love mine, and its a bit weird to see a 2001 Mk1 VTR

Ill get some pics in the day soon but for now i have one in the dark.

Thought i would also include a before and after. below is the night before the conversion and the night the conversion was done.

So next on the list:
  • Stixall Everything on
  • Custom bonnet liip over lights
  • Widemouth the bottom
  • Angel Headlights
  • Smooth over fogs

And more but i wont give it away yet

Looks good! The mk1 front end looks miles better!

Are you sticking with the 2 tone paintwork?

Isn't every Saxo "euro"? They are European.

To be honest not a fan of too wide wheels and cars smoothed so much they look like a jelly mould.

But each to their own, will be keeping an eye on this anyway I'm interested to see how it turns out! You've made some good progress already.

Well tbh when you see euro saxos, most are mk2 because of the "eye" shaped lights etc. I havent seen many on mk1 with custom bonnet etc so im just going for a bit of a difference like. Mst euros consist of bbs dishes or borbets w/e but as I said im going for banded steels.

Not smoothing the bumpers or ewt. Just the boot and fogs. But like ya said each to their own, ill keep you updated on little bits such as my engine bay as seen better days tbh. So thats gonna be my next work on tbh. Ill show you a pic of the engine bay.

Anyways as saying heres a pic of my engine bay.

As you can see its seen better days, i put the piping on for the BMC which i took off an old raceland wannabe. The plus side is its had most of its welding done on the arches but more will be done once the engine conversion gets underway.
