Driving or Car Enthusiast?
Asked this on Cliosport & got a pretty one-sided response, so it would be interesting to see wat you guys say
Many people like cars & driving them, but do you sit in the 'driving enthusiast' or 'car enthusiast' school of thought?
Personally, when i drive a car, i love the actual process of driving, the perfect heel & toe for example, or the delicate communication of details from the wheels through to the steering wheel, the feeling that your mind & car are directly connected. You think, it does. The sense of satisfaction from catching a slight moment, some unexpected oversteer. I can have a brilliant drive in a Daewoo 1.0, an underpowered BMW, or a transit. I am a driving enthusiast
Some people however, love cars, they lust after Audis, BMWs & Ferraris, such cars are wonderful & have fancy sequential gearboxes that blip the throttle for you...they are the pinnacle of modern automotive greatness & people buy them because magazines say that they are the best. Such people are car enthusiasts
Question is, what are you? Do you lust after that perfect downshift, on that Welsh backroad at 4am, or do you crave the latest model, the latest automotive breakthrough ..... Discuss.

I love modifying/working on cars fitting new parts/getting things working.
I'm hoping to get down to the south of France/Switzerland in the Summer so could change to a driving enthusiast!

i do enjoy driving... but being an engineer i have to beer a car enthusiast, building, modifying, and repairing anything with an engine is awesome. also i recon at the top level of racing, the drivers if in the same cars would be pretty evenly matched (with some exceptions), but put in similar class cars with individualy setup and the little changes/mods make all the difference.

I take my driving very seriously and indeed I'm enthusiastic about the style of which I drive etc, but cars themselves is what makes me feel passionate.
So for that reason, car enthusiast. Having said that, I'd also consider myself a driving enthusiast as well.

Both tbh.
I enjoy the feedcal and the way different surfaces feel through the wheel, the noise of my h22 when on cam,the different feeling between cam profiles, perfecting heel-toe and getting spot on shifts so as not to drop off cam,i basically love everything about driving ffs i even enjoyed crashing which is wrong.
Yet on the other hand i like my cars to look good and i enjoy fixing things on there and fitting new parts to make the driving experience more pleasurable.
