Default Boosted's Progress!

So finally made my mind up to start a progress thread. i have been a member for nearly a year now. I'm 20 and I'm from Malta. i have a 5 door white phase 1 saxo 1.5 diesel. it is my first car and i have had some chavvy mods in my mind before I joined sax-p and quite frankly I have changed my mind from that of kitting my car up to making it look standard apart from some simple subtle mods. Now after almost a year i'm at Uni and done quite some mods to the sax. so after talking to other members on sax-p I was convinced to start my own progress thread!

this is how i bought the car, standard apart from 106 mirrors!

Gave it a good wash (was still standard)

then had some rust spots on the whole roof and a major spot between the windscreen and the roof so had it done professionally and re sprayed whole roof. very glad with the outcome and then came my first mod - being the meshed grill.

also noticed that the driver's side strips were a bit loose, in fact being held by only 2 clips. all others broken so had to repair that one too.

also had the plastic bit near the side windows/door pillar sticking out and fixed it in place with some sealer.

another quick wash with the new grill

than decided to t-cut the badges

after some time i noticed that i really disliked the saxo steering wheel as mine had an ugly cover on (like the ones on old people's cars) and when i removed it, the steering wheel had bits of rubber kinda falling off like crumbling and sticking to your hand so i decided to upgrade to a nice steering wheel that even matched the inside of my car

fitted

than came the foot well l.e.d.'s in blue

and also some blue l.e.d.'s for the front lights

took the hubcaps off my saxo and whilst driving around on a Sunday saw this rusting thing and decided to take a couple of pics with it

after saving up for a decent set of alloys i bought these 15" with 185/45/15 Nankang tires which i found really good in wet and cheap!

off the ramp

more @ uni

tried to park it up a steep incline and what happens!

than came an opportunity to buy a complete vt kit with a different running board not the standard one so it was in fibre. the kit was damaged: front bumper was holding on by miracle, sides had a couple of dents and the rear bumper had a 3 inch crack. all fixed with plastic welding through a friend of a friend (thats how we do it in Malta) and so I bought the kit and fixed it for 130 euros so not bad at all. the color was green so than i began to sand it off back to plastic which was a good experience for me as I really enjoy doing all the mods in my saxo myself to learn with the help of my dad and mainly my gf's father.

next on the list was a silencer. my gf bought me one for my bday with a burnt tip

than bought the angel eyes cause i had the driver's side light wobbly from the inside and was giving me a headache replacing bulbs every now and than

loving the new look

my gf bought me the lexus lights which i know how you guys feel about them but i absolutely love

and at that time had just got the rear vt bumper back from the plastic welder and had it trial fitted..(you can see where he welded which was pretty much all over the bumper!)

now a couple of days ago I had some free time and got to work on fitting the front vt bumper so that I can start doing the vt kit on the 5 door

here it goes:

- you can see Bruce surveying my car

and my gf's lab too

and how the car stands today!

these are pretty much all the mods i've done to my saxo for now...soon to complete the vt kit and afterwards maybe next year when I'm 21 and insurance will be lower I will 16v it

hope you like!!
Frank.

im glad you took my advise and made a progress thread, i love it mate some of the mods are chavvy but i think they all work well especially when you fit the kit will look awesome! i like the alloys, and white by far is the best colour i think, the car looks is very good condition, if your handy at plastic welding you should smooth the boot trim over where the lock is and if you like it you should do the fogs, if your handy at body work you can make a car look awesome without a lot of money, you should get the arches on, the front ones are a straight fit as you probably know, cant wait to see the rest of the kit on

Looking very nice..Want to see it with the Bumpers painted and on there..so something for you to work towards Angel lights look awsome..Same ones i'm after..so if you get the HID Kit and want rid of the angels let me know
Looks like the front bumper is sitting pretty well round the sides for the arches. Looking forward to see it moving on..

no chance i'm getting rid of the angels as for the hids they're going in the angels. already had them in but as i thought i would take the mudguards off to replace with the vt ones i put them hids back in the box! i think i'll just wait until i spray the front bumper/arches than i put the hids back in
