Default Jeffchiz's project *Back from the dead with a cammed hybrid engine*

Right well I’ve decided to make another thread for my saxo as the last one reached 50 pages of mainly spam lol also my car seems to be getting to a point in its life where I think it needs a new thread as I sounded like a right noob in the first 10 or so pages in the first one lol
Anyways ill do a quick rundown of how the car has changed over the years
I bought her for £750 off ebay was advertised at £1000 I think; only problems were a chipped screen and two balding tires.

First of all I ordered clear rear jewels, angel head lights and French plates from santa pod

Then my mate smashed my rear window (accidently!!!) lol

Then some t**t smashed my front window and bricked the roof (he had to pay out about £600)

De-pinned and de-wipered and t-cut badges

Then tried to smooth the bumpers myself (badly)

Did a photoshop of what I wanted it to look like

Then I fitted -60mm spax spring and tinted the rear lights to look more standard

I then fitted a smoothed boot with a short plate recess

I also part bought a 106 1.4 with the intention off taking the bike carbs, rallye head and 4-2-1 mani on to my vtr

Then I fitted my 4-2-1 manifold

And I had a smoothed, wide mouthed front bumper made up for me

And then bought some rallye steels

And swapped my bike carbs for a rallye inlet

I refurbed my rallye steels

Then I fitted a red and black furio interior and fitted some vibe components and got rid of the 6x9’s

Then I got the boot painted, side strips painted gloss black and I had another rear bumper made up for me (smoothed exhaust recess and tow eye)

It had its mot and fitted a new cat, 4 brand new yokos, rear brake bias valve repaired and had the torsion bar lowered 65mm

Then fitted a smaller boot plate and fitted another pressed front plate and a 106 back box and a superprint centre section (de-cat)

Saxp stickers!!

Citroen sport badges and smoked side repeaters

Fitted rallye head and inlet

Couldn’t get it working properly so out with the vtr engine and in with the 16v engine with a 1.1 box!

Then fitted a vts mahoosive rad

Some pretty pics

Then bought some Borbet A’s

More bad luck! The gearbox mount snapped sheared off bolts in the g/box and snpped both drive shafts so I replaced the 1.1 box with a vtr box to save on fuel and because I had it lying around lol

Thats how it’s looking at the moment i need to order a couple drive shafts then it’ll be back on the road!
Also my kam racing package turned up: apex front dampers, front and rear maxtorque discs and mintex pads, powerflex and polysport arb/wishbone bushes all these are going to be fitted by KrisB when my car is back on the road. While the car is doing nothing i thought id fit a few things I had lying around, polished cam covers, i cut down my red induction pipe and fitted, fitted my K&N cold air feedand fitted my black bolts (inlet manifold/throttlebody/camcovers/coilpack cover) but ive lost my red coil pack dunno where ive put it!

you in luck mate heres a pic lol

also heres a pic of the engine bay with the black bolt, red induction pipe and cold air feed

with the cold air feed i attached it to the end of the original vtr cold air feed i think it should work pretty well!

still need to find my red coil pack cover, then you should see the black bolts much easier! and should contrast good with the red, also i think a red top rad hose is on the cards to finish the bay off along with a good clean

ive also got some more shiny nuts to go in the engine bay eg the three 13mm strut nuts and the big 18mm nut on top of the top mount

Wheels suit alot better now. Should have done a layer of primer first though buddy, would have made a big difference. Good job though.

thank you mate, appreciate it In my eyes its a long way off looking awesome

it should be back on the road with all the wheels done early next week, it should have its new suspension/brakes/cam belt/torsion bar towered late next week, then in about a month when payday comes again and ive finished uni for the summer then the car should be going body shop again, then a month after that im gonna get the new interior, i might just have it done by FCS, i really hope so :s
