are vtr and vts water pumps the same?
as title says i have a brand new vtr water pump and my vts needs a new cambelt/water pump just thought i can save my elf £30 if i can use the vtr pump

They look to be the same. Have a look on euro car parts and
Compare both part nos.

ive just went of ECP and some say they fit an 8v others say they fit a 16v and others say they fit both! grrr lol my mate has a 16v one lying around they look the same to me

yeh they deffently look the same to me too.
just make sure its a tight enough fit when fitting and that there is plenty of clearence.

vts on left, vtr on right, the fins are different but i think the design changes with different companies

considering the blocks are the same bar a few little things i think the vtr one will fit, suppose my best bet is to just take both of them along to KrisB when he does my cambelt, but i cant be bothered to pay my mate for another pump! lol

yeh, i changed a vts one on thursday night and the one i took out was like the one on right and one the new one was the same as the one on left.

no problem. also count the teeth and check diameter of both before fitting.
if they are both the same and new one fits snugly i would go ahead and fit it.

oh bollocks they are different! the vtr one has 20 teeth, vts has 19 teeth and the vtr one looks bigger grrr well thats an end to that! lol
