Default Problem with Bilstein and Faulkners

I recently bought a set of Bilstein B8 dampers and Faulkner 155lb springs off of here for my vts. I've taken the front struts off the car and stripped off the old springs and dampers and bought new top mounts and bearings.

I've assembled one strut back together with the damper, spring, upper spring seat, bearing, lower mounting seat, rubber top mount, the upper mounting seat and finally done up the strut top nut. The nut is done up tight however there is a lot of movement in all the parts, and nothing feels 'secure' and you can move parts out of place just with your hands.

I didn't have to use spring compressors to get the faulkners on as expected, but it's almost as though the spring needs to be longer to give some pressure so that everything locks in place, or that the damper rod itself needs to shorter.

So can anyone tell me if this is normal for it to be like this? And when the strut is back on the car and has got the car's weight on it it will suffice? And finally that you don't need any different parts apart from the oem one's to fit the blistein and faulkner set-up...

Cheers

They are the 240mm 155lb springs.

When i fitted everything the springs were 'loose' as well, & we didnt need to use spring clamps, all fine once there was some weight down on them though ...

Ok cheers for the reply Dave, I was just a bit sceptical about fitting them like that that's all! But I will go ahead and do it now
