Mine took about 6 weeks when I bought my car, I wouldn't have waited much more than that before ringing the guy i bought it from though.

Go to your local dvla office, i didnt get mine for 5 months so i was driving around with the car in somebody elses name then when i came to tax it i was stuffed so went to the dvla office with the green slip and she changed it in my name there and then and i recieved the logbook in 2 weeks... obviously the previous owner didnt send it away but more fool him if i got done by a camera.
