Default Sloppy Steering

How can I tighten it up? The steering feels really unresponsive and lacks feel.

I'm power assisted by the way. I cant seem to find a non-PAS rack anywhere!

You mean for sale? Have you got all the other bits as well to complete the conversion?

I mentioned in my other post that I'll be overhauling the suspension so we'll see how I get on after that.

scrap yard in osset has a non pas vtr in i was going to rape it for parts but i just stripped my pas rack and it works fine the bloke said it would be 250 for all the non pas parts needed and the pedal set. plus if you go some time this week you will get it cheaper because no one goes when its snowing.

but you don't have them and he does?

and yes it has but it don't matter if its been converted any ways all the bits are there and in really good condition.

EDIT: that wasn't a dig at you not having them mate and everyone around here knows that its a expensive scrappers but he always has like 20 saxo's in stock.

no wonder he's got so much in stock if they're his prices!

if i was you mate i would try stripping the p.a.s rack down and give that a go before paying for the full manual conversion as mine feels 10x better than it did with the p.a.s working.

Non-PAS is the way forward mate, i love the feel of it in my 1.1 you can feel excatly what the cars doing and make those finer adjustments can really hold it in the bends not ideal for parallel parking though ...my S will be saying goodbye to its PAS when time and funds allow!
