Default 03 VTS will not run

Hopefully one you will be able to help out as I am quickly running out of ideas.
Car is a track car and on the last outing I went over a rumble strip (on the very last corner) and the car simply died- would not run. It will turn over and try to start but won't. It is as if there is no fuel getting through. I pressed the fuel cut off- no joy. Had it on a diagnostic that said the knock sensor so replaced- still the same. I took the air filter off and sprayed carb cleaner into the throttle body and when I turned it over it ran for a few seconds and then died. This is telling me no fuel must be getting through. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do? Tahnks in advance for your help. Rich

Is the pump priming - can you hear it when you turn the ignition on? Maybe a connection has come off? If not my money is something's up with the cut-off switch - can you get hold of another one to try?

Yeh, I can hear it priming. Looks like it could be trial and error by replacing parts such as the cut off- Thanks

Its known that the injector wiring loom can break, i forgot mine unplugged once and it would try to start/run with carb cleaner. Check that loom under the intake plenum but if you do need to replace i heard the mk1 is different but not from what i could lol.

I had the issue where I hit a pot hole, proper harsh bang. Pulled over the car wouldn't fire, first thing I did was hit the fuel cut off, the pump would then prime, and it would try and fire and die.

I checked everything, grounding on fuel, all plugs / sensors, no fuses blow. In the end I had to call the RAC, I told him what i'd checked etc, so he checked the ECU for errors, there was 7 errors flagged up, none of which that should stop the car from starting (remember a generic ECU reader etc, might not show all codes correctly) In any case cleared the errrors, and it fired up no problems.

Check your earths on the gearbox you may have knocked them loose when you went over the rumble strip. Also try a new fuel filter.

Done that. Just replace fuel filter. Gonna spend a full day on it and go through things one at a time. Interesting tho about clearing the ECU- will look at that as well.

Thanks to all

I've got a 51 plate VTS with what sounds like has the same problem. Will basicly start but just can't go the last bit to start fully.
Spent all day Saturday checking everything/changing parts but still don't start. Its got fuel and a spark but still no good.
