306gti-6 brakes
engine, exhaust etc is standard, will prob stay like that.

Plans? got some x-sport linkages, and a griffiths quickshift to fit. could do with a clean inside.

Other than that just service it and clock the miles up lol

I thought I'd bump this thread after 4 years, I've now owned the car this long. I bought the car on 30k, its now on 131k, the cars had a rather hard life on and off the road.

This is in no particular order, as I wouldn't know where to start, but a load of pictures I've found and some new ones.

Current (and long standing) Spec of car:

Gti-6 Brakes Mintex 1144's / Yellow Stuff Pads
Falkner Springs 45-50mm - Billie Dampers
Everything related to suspension replaced around 15k ago (droplinks, all bushes, engine mounts, track rod ends, wishbones, etc etc some stuff poly bushed.)
"EGR Valve" (air pump) removed.
Standard Airbox with better air feed (silencer removed)
Few pipes leading from engine to throttle body blocked or moved eg catch tank.
Toyo's all round
Head Gasket and Cambelt done around 13k ago.

5 Gearbox Swaps:

2 new Clutches:

Broken diff:

Alive:

First box went on 60k~ (bearings)

Next went after 15k of being on the car (1.1 box) had done around 70k.

Next box went after 750 miles of being on the car (1.1 box) input shaft bearing was rogered when I put it on unfortunately, and quickly went pissing oil all over the underside of my car and over the boot for a 60 mile drive of burning oil and smoke following my car! Was fun to drain the oil that was left out the box and look at the massive metal shavings.

AlexR gave me a box with just over 100k on it, and has been fine for last 35k - till now the diff sounds shocking so a 1.4 XSI box going on soon.

At somepoint a new beam went on with fresh bearings!

Then my new LUK clutch (replaced on 98k) went in under 10k, I couldn't get the box out of 3rd, when i pulled the box off the clutch springs fell out! New Saches clutch and all good.

Rear window got smashed, was cheaper to get a new boot from scrappy:

Weld on my standard backbox went, so I put a magnex on and swapped bumpers over because it had melted the bumper!:

Off:

On:

Had some trouble in the snow:

Got hit in the snow, cracked bumper bent panels etc:

Different sort of snow:

New Radiator:

Recently Put some new Discs and Pads on:

Old:

New:

Yellow Stuff Pads and some drilled discs.

Putting a new gearbox on ATM, a 1.4 XSI - Nice ratios. Pictures:

Input shaft bearing knackered:

Other bits Replaced:

Alternator Replaced
Linkages
Exhausts
All ABS sensors
Power Steering pipe welded up
One or two sensors
Battery

Not looking her best:

Dog:

Lambda sensor change:

Back on - Quick engine clean:

How the car looks today:

To Do:

Change Crank Pulley again
Slight Grounding issue somewhere - sometimes nothing from turn of key and coolant gauge thinks its a window wiper on and off on every drive.
Brake Fluid

The car managed 15sec dead on quarter mile a few years ago, standard spec full interior - the car still pulls hard and goes well today (surprisingly)

Currently and 165 mile round trip motorway slag and b road blaster! 130k and on we go.

Cheers
