Those that have broken a Saxo
I have a Ph2 VTS that I'm struggling to rid myself of. I took it in PX for a low price thinking it's a cheap, fast that that would be easy to sell.
Those of you that have broken a Saxo, how was your experience? How much did you sell, how long did it take, where did you sell it and what is worth what?
It would be a shame to break it, but I think it's fast approaching a price where I'd be significantly better off breaking it.
FWIW, it's currently up at £895 with little serious interest.

Saxos dont seam to sell for much at the moment, even models like the VTS but i dont think you will make much breaking it unless its modified.

106 gti near me with tax and ticket (1998 car) that hasn't sold for £700. 106's generally go for more than a saxo, so you're almost certainly as you say at the point of where breaking is more profitable, but it's a lot of hassle, mess and you're left with a shell you've got to shift.

Hard to sell these days!

The car isn't standard...
It has a 4 branch manifold,
Straight through stainless exhaust,
Lowered front jamex springs
Lowered rear beam
BCM induction kit
Short shift kit and adjustable alloy selectors
Clifford alarm
The previous owner claims it has some kind of cams fitted. A typical cammy, lumpy idle perhaps seems to support this, but given that every Saxo owner around here seems to claim this, I've taken this with a pinch of salt.
All that along with new clutch, discs and pads makes it a reasonably well sorted car in my eyes :/
So what would be a fair price for this, and what are different parts (standard and modified) worth if it was to be broken?

I think you would be far better off breaking it, most of the mods should go with ease if priced ok
Edit: or return it to standard, make money on the modified parts and then sell a standard Saxo cheapish

4 branch manifold £50 - £100
Straight through stainless exhaust £50-200
Lowered front jamex springs £30
Lowered rear beam £100 if in good nick
BCM induction kit £30
Short shift kit and adjustable alloy selectors £20
Clifford alarm £ no idea
then you got the shell, gearbox, engine, loom etc
If you got time/space you would make more breaking imo.
if you do decide to break it, find out what manifold it is as I might take it.
