Personally, not many could give a fuck at all. I had my 124db exhaust on for a year with no questions over it. Just do it and stop being a puss

Arrest you and imprison you.
There you will try to keep yourself to yourself, but eventually you'll be spoken to by a guy who you think is friendly. He gains your trust and you end up becoming good friends. It's only after this, that he reveals that he is part of a prison gang. You're forced with a dilemma, they want you to stab another inmate to gain their protection and become part of the gang. Without it, you could be raped or killed by the other inmates.
Your choice bro, your choice.

Never had a problem with mine, went in a multi story was being a wanker, copper waited for me told me to stop being a wanker and go home.
As long as you don't keep being daft and getting pulled and don't give the olive reason to be pulled you'll be fine.

Lol that's brilliant
On a slightly more serious note, police can do fuck all about the noise, but you will get targeted A LOT more by police and when they pull you over they will do everything they can to pick up on other faults e.g tyres, washer fluid etc, oh and also if you have no cat and you get roadside checked for emissions then your fucked

Nothing, unless you are being antisocial with it in a residential area between 11pm and I think 6 or 7am the same as with loud music.

If you are going to run a straight pipe it will be really loud and will probably attract attention, no silencers will be stupid though, will be ridiculously loud and you will be down on power.
With a decat and just single rear silencer it will be fairly noisy, but not illegal.
Some cammed VTS's will fail a static db test, but not many.
The general threshold for 'pain' if you like is 120db, over that sounds hurt our ears. If your over 120db i could see people getting funny and reporting it.

Get your pants down, bend you over your bonnet and go straight in with no lube until your arse looks like a yawning hippo.
Seriously, probably (as others have said on this thread) not alot. If you get mouthy with the classic 'Why don't you go and catch some real crooks?' then they'll probably go over the car with a fine tooth comb but that's only if you poke with a stick.
As long as you don't plan on sitting it on the limiter until 2 in the morning day in day out, I'm sure you'll be alright

Get a Saxsport as it has a dummy cat and you can drive it quietly if you don't belt it!

worst they can do is from what ive heard is - give you a fine or tell you to change it or make you redo your mot.
tbh it rarely happens
i got pulled for being too loud and too low once (lol) he just made sure my mot was in order and sent me on my way
my mates old mk6 fiesta had a straight through powerflow exhaust and that was the loudest car ive ever been in lol police didnt care

Personally, i wouldn't bother. Some of my other cars had loud exhausts, including my Saxo - but nowadays i'm perfectly happy to live with a standard exhaust.
The gf has just bought a Golf which has got a loud exhaust on and when i drove it at the weekend it got on my nerves tbh. A quiet subtle tone when you give it some right pedal is all that's needed - loud just get's boring. But maybe it's just me getting old.
