Default garage problems

i wont name and shame but had some problems with my local garage and wonder if any of you guys can give some advice ?
last august i had the offside driveshaft replaced, and then this march that wheel bearing had gone, so i replaced it myself, only to notice that they had fitted a tapered driveshaft not a non tapered one, so the wheel bearing still had play, the garage assured me it was the correct driveshaft, so i assumed i had fitted the bearing incorrectly, i replaced it again only to have the same problem, this time a mechanic from the garage came to my house, took the bearing and pressed it in, and fitted it with no play, still assuring me it was the correct driveshaft.
2 weeks ago this wheel bearing failed again, so i took it to a different garage who replaced the bearing but called me to ask if i had had the driveshaft replaced as it is the incorrect one, so they changed that for the correct one and now it fits fine with no play !
where do i stand with the first garage ? I have a meeting with the owner tomorrow and dont want to be fobbed off basically as their mistake has cost me over £200 plus my own time

Just wait and see what he says, and don't let him fob you off. Hopefully he will be reasonable about it, if not then you may have to go down the route of trading standars or something

in my experience the best way to approach it is to be very polite and try not to argue a point straight away make it seem like you are taking the high road and look to resolve the promblem as you are sure that you are a values custom to the business that sort of thing, highlight there mistake and i would have written down and take with you all recipts for work they have done and for the wheel bearings etc and say the hassel of not having a car working properley etc
