Be1, be3 and be3/6 have an xubellhousing
Be4 have the tu bellhousing
The be4 bellhousing is what you need then can mix and match the internals even fitting the 6 speed be3/6

OK, thanks one last question i know in a left hand drive saxo you can use the 306 1.8 16v shaft on the driver side, but do you know which model do i need to find to use the other side as a plug and play or i have to modify it? thanks a lot.

BE4 also have an XU/XUD bellhousing, and a DW, and an EP, and EW, and DV.
its not as simple as saying you need a BE4 box, you need the one with the correct bellhousing, which will be from a TU engined vehicle.
as for gear ratios, that can be sorted afterwards.

Ok the idea is to get a BE who was coupled with a TU engine in my case or XU engine in other cases to match the engine block holes. (Plug and play in some sorts)

Several were cable out of the factory. Parts are available on service box. I looked at it a while ago for a sequential conversion.
Edit - I may have misread - I'm talking about cable shift not clutch operation. Apologies.

either clutch or shifting can be converted to cable, xsara picasso was cable shift, I've got the parts off a picasso gearbox as it will have a satchsift fitted.
afaik you can't use factory cable shift in a saxo/106 due to the shape of the bulkhead and position of the steering arms.
have a look on servicebox.

Yeah my original plan was to convert to cable shift, and from there sequential using a cable/sequential adapter - but I've given up on that route for a while as other plans have got in the way.
I think with the sequential leaver the routing issue will be overcome.

you either didn't explain to them clearly or whoever you were talking to doesn't have a clue, as Atspeed include the cable type clutch fork in their conversion kit (its an o.e part available from a pug/citroen dealer)
