Default ABS light on, Mot due next week

Been trying to solve this for ages, my ABS works fine but i just cant get rid of the light from the dash, sometimes its on, sometimes its not, but everytime i take it for an MOT it comes on!!

I thought about covering it in black tape but it needs to be seen when the ignition is on.

Is there a way to wire the abs light to the battery light or something? Thanks

Check the resistance of each sensor from the main plug, theres lots of info on autodata on testing the abs, if the light is on there will be a fault code too.

I'd test for a dodgy sensor

if theres a faulty sensor you'll need to replace it regardless if you want an mot, free re-test or not.

checking for resistance will cost you just a few minutes with a multimeter.

Check for resistance at the sensors. If the lights flicking on and off it will be a broken wire if the plugs are ok. Wiggle the wire see if the resistance changes.

A code read would tell you exactly which sensor it is too

much easier to check at the main plug, this will also eliminate the loom from the equation if it bells through ok.

If you're getting a resistance across all the sensors then chances are is it is the pump itself that is fubar'd there is a pin & board connector inside which is often the cause but it's normally easir just to replace the unit with a 2nd hand one.
