Door Pin Removal Guide

As well as this, please remove your head unit Face totally from the car and take it with you.

Leave your glove box wide open to show there is nothing inside.

Do not leave anything else in your car.

That is all.
Thought I might let you all know.

evety car I have owned has been delocked and pins removed (where they had them originally).

It's common sence to take headunit face out of the car and not leave anything on show.

If a wannabe theif can see that there is nothing in there they won't waste their time.

More fool the guy that had his broken into!

I have left my door pins on my car, as I'm still undecided if I should take them out.

If anyone even touched my door, the proximity sensor would pick it up straight away.

So do you have to take pins out completely? Or can you just lower them? (Like on new cars (well, my girlfriend's mini) you can't actually pull them up when they're down... would this be just as good?)

what would be the point in that? you lock your doors, then you cant get out! i don't think it would be worth the extra work.

Because it'd piss me off testing to see if my doors were locked if I can't see that they are. All it is is chopping a bit of the rod and gluing on the pin further down. My central locking makes no sound and isn't hooked up to indicators, so yeah, I kinda need to see sometimes. Also, come to sell, I'm sure some mofo would reject to there being no pins.

if i showed the potential new owner that i could break into the car in under 5 seconds without making any noise or any damage then i know for a fact that they wont mind that there is no door pins

The query about "how to get out" was raised on SSC if you were to remove your door pins and if they key fob wasn't working. They were told to lower the windows and unlock the car from the outside. It was then asked... and if you've had your external locks removed...?

You either keep a spare battery in your car or you get someone to bring out one, not ricket science.

Also saxo's come with a spare key fob so if its at home, ring some one whos at home and get them to press the key fob while holding it close to there mobile and it should unlock your car

Oh dear god... you are joking!?! Haha!

And just out of curiousity... not being able to unlock the car from the inside... Is that an MOT failure? If so, I can't see how by "keeping a spare battery" or "have somebody unlock the car via the phone" will get you past it.

Im interested in doing this for security reasons but when you guys mention that you cant open the door from the inside it kinda puts me off!

Can someone state the pros and cons of doing this!

Cheers
