get a couple of bullet connectors to connect it, then you can remove it as and when.
or you could just strip the two and join them with sellotape

Does this deffo need to be connected to the Amp for the Amp to work?
Will it not work from just the power and earth wires?

it will work, but stay on constantly, thus draining your battery

My wiring from the HU doesn't have any labels on so I can't tell which is the REM.
There are 2 it could be. There's a thin blue one, which is very similar in guage to the one which is in the wiring pack I bought and labelled as REM.
And the other available wire is a much thicker yellow wire, with a connector on the end.
So should the REM be the thicker or thinner of the 2 wires??
Cheers.

If your yellow wire (perm live) isnt going anywhere, then the settings on the head unit will not save. You need to hook that up to the corresponding wire on the iso block mate!
