£500 plus for for cams an re-map.
As for putting a vts in you looking at bag of sand(grand)plus unless you can do it your self
If i was you ide save my money an put it towards the vts but thats up to you what you do with your money

if you where at all serious about the conversion would be worth pm'ing rcd performance for example for a quote.. he did a conversion to a gold vtr and the lad was well chuffed and all at a very good price including a low mileaged good condition vts engine...
otherwise cams, port and polishing, stripping the car will be noticeable, throttle bodies, carbs many different options get your head in some performance tuning mags mate and search peoples progress threads all will be helpful!!!

forget tuning the engine, fit a pug 106 rallye gearbox, or a 'box from a 106 xsi, or even one from a vts. this can then at least be tranferred from the vtr engine to the vts one.
