im looking into buying a new amp soon i wana 4 channel one, dont wana spent too much on it tho thinkin around 100 or so, dont have that much of a budget, ive got a 700w amp now, but its only a single channel.
not sure wot all the watts do, i was looking at a mutant one from halfords, its a 4 channel and is 89.99, was going to replace my 2 subs aswell with mutant ones (12") which are 29.99 each the current ones ive got now are 1200w i think
not sure bout it all really, i no how to fit it all but i have no idea wen it comes down to buying it
so any help would be great

the mutant stuff is actually pretty decent for the money. When your looking at watts find teh RMS value or the continous power handling figure, match amps to subs with these figures. Peak figures mean nothing

also, if you think you are going to be able to wait longer and save more
money to put into hte audio system then hold out and till you can afford
the branded equipment if your not too fussed etc then get the mutant
stuff

this is the mutant amp:
RMS output wattage - 4x80w RMS
Peak wattage - 4x160w peak
2 Ohms stable
Variable low pass and high pass x-over
0-12dB variable super bass booster
and the sub (il b gettin 2):
12" subwoofer
200w RMS power
700w maximum power
35 - 800Hz frequency range
Steel basket
i dont really know wot it means tho!
im not really wanting to spend loads of ice, i just want it too sound good!
wot you think about the details of the amp n sub?

The mutant stuff is great.
Mate of mine has a full mutant install and it sounds phenominal for a base range (cost wise) audio system.

would be better to get one amp per sub on those. For sound quality purposes I mean.

yes they would both need to be connected to the headunit, Y splitters would work or if one of the amps has a phono output then daisy chain.
you need an amp that can run 2X 200wrms or to confuse you more an amp that can run 1 X 200wrms at 2 Ohms
