First Car
Would it be totally stupid for my first car to buy a VTR because A lad at work on the Nightshift is selling his 1.6 For a grand ( He bought it for £700-800 But Handbrake And Something else needed Fixing) and am sooo tempted to blow the money Ive been saving but would the Insurance be too hefty or what?
Cheers

will be a lot for insurance.. if you can afford it then go for it
id get the price down a bit.. hand brake needed fixing wouldnt warrent an extra £300 imo!
be careful though.. a lot are written off because people cant handle the power as a 1st car due to inexperience and immaturity in wanting to show off etc

It would make a wicked first car, if you could get a reasonable insurance quote.

Cheers for the good advice
But will it be that much of a shock going to a vtr as a first?
And yeah I thought that about the price but Its an Ok starting price and I could knock the buggar down!

well tbh. i got my vtr after a year of driving, and it didnt feel that much more powerful, untill i had to drive my mates 1.1 for him.. it was just so much more sluggish.. which isnt a bad thing as a new driver
with experience youll be ok, and so long as your heads screwed on you shouldnt get into to much trouble
allthough in the moment it can be hard to resist temptation and have a little bit of driving hard when out with mates or whatever.

Imo its better to get a Westcoast/Furio (because they have same looks as a VTR) keep it for a few years then upgrade to a VTS or something equivalent.

VTR is fine for first car, its not that fast.
If you can afford it and you want it, get it

VTR for a first would be good... Just be carefull in it, i know you might think 'Only a 1.6' but for a first car.. Thats alot...
Insurance, if you can afford it go for it, but i would recommend getting a lower engine car and save your cash for bigger and better things in time.
