Default Headgasket failing

Hi there,

i think my moms mk2 vtr headgasket is failing where the water in mixing with the oil, still runs fine.

my question is if i change the gasket will the head need to be skimming??

also

Thanks Paul

Not always, if its been driven under excessive heat then the head could be warped and would need skimming.

Its always worth washing the head and having it preassure tested and refaced(skimmed).
