Default Thinking of rebuilding a VTS engine....

I'm looking at doing a VTS conversion at some point next year. But before I do, i'm thinking about rebuilding the engine and thought I'd have a go at it myself, using info here and on the internet. How wrong could it go?? Honestly I have very little knowledge but would love to give it a go....

In all honestly its preparation.

Buy a haynes manual.

Then, take the head bolts off, put them in a tub called 'Head bolts'... Take the cam shaft and bolts off, put them in a tub etc etc. That way you know where everything is and wont get lost/ messed up.

Taking pictures of timing marks/ what way gaskets go etc etc will help.

Nothing is impossible.. just put your mind to it and think what your doing and label every part up.

I'd like to rebuild an engine if i had the space.

buy a haynes, go from there.
read the book before you do it.
Make sure you have a good amount of tools
You need space too!
if you dont get trade at your local motor factors or citroen, its going to cost abit i can imagine.

Manuals, cleanliness and get the right tools as well - nothing like finding you need a torque wrench or you havent got a certain torx bit

Not too sure mate, looking through threads on here, people have talked of it going into the thousands whereas others say they've spent a couple of hundred. Guess it all depends how much is being replaced....

Going to have to put a list together of all the bits I'll need really!
