driving theory question
Right....
approaching a roundabout, there's 2 lanes to choose from, both with no road markings. You're wanting to exit on the 3rd exit, which is directly in front but slightly to the right.
which lane would you need to be in?
need an arguement settled.

that's what I thought! most people go in the left lane though, and presume because it's straight ahead you stay in the left lane. hmmm.

i was told look at the round about like a clock
anything up to 12oclock is left hand lane, passed 12 is right
Sounds paff but it works lol
On that theory, 3rd exit (a little bit to the right) is passed 12, so right hand lane

Yup always right hand lane if it's past straight on. The amount of idiots that cut accross me from the left hand lane to go right is stupid.

I work on the clock theory, it's what I was told was the rule for my driving test too.

Not necessarily, depending on how many exits there are.
For round about's with two or no lane markings:
- First exit on the left, left hand lane, indicate left when approaching the round about.
- Other left turning exits including straight ahead '12 o'clock', left hand lane, indicate only when you take the exit.
- Any exit after '12 o'clock' pointing right, right hand lane, indicate right when approaching the round about. Indicate left only when you take the exit.
Be warned though. If a round about has an exit that's technically banking right after '12 o'clock', check the road sign. If it's marked down as straight on, then treat it as a left hand lane.

It's simple! First exit, indicate left, take it. Anything else before 12 oclock, left lane. Anything after, right lane, indicate right.

If you look at the original road markings, both lanes have arrows turning right. That means that both lanes can take the exit.
If you're in the left green lane, then exit the left lane. If you're in the right orange lane, then exit the right lane. DON'T cut into the left green lane .
