Wheels touching arches?!
Hi all,
Can someone tell me whats wrong with my wheels. They seem to be back quite a bit :/ also when i put the power down round a corner they like a barreling sound that comes from them aswell. I've been told its the arches that are the problem here but im not sure.
Any help here please..
Thanks James

Your wishbones are either bebt or more likely if your getting battering noises the bushes have collapsed
Get 2 new wishbones or some poly bushes

Only way to tell if the bush has failed is to jack the car up and pull on the wheel in different directions see if it moves in the arch
If it does theyve failed

If you havnt really had a look at wishbones before it's difficult to tell if it's bent, often it'll only be really obvious when comparing to a correct one. It doesn't take much of a bend either to make the wheels sit back.
They're not too expensive to buy, a pair can be bought for just under £100 from alot of places.

Ok i'll have a check in a sec will bring it into the warehouse and jack it up. So if the wheels move i need new bushes and not wishbones? will let you know.

Bushes are part of the wishbone if you arent very competent its easier to fit entire wishbones with bushes in
Plus as willsys said its hard to tell wether a wishbone is bent untill compared to a straight one
Id put money on the rear bush being at fault and they are similar price to new wishbones tbh

Im suprised you cant tbh but then it will be bent
Picsof the wishbones themself wont help butfrom where the wheel is in tbe arch if the bushes arent flexing the arm is bent

Hmm i just went out and looked at the wishbone it looks fine aswell :/ i have a formula 1 down the road maybe i should take it there and ask whats wrong with it then i could buy the parts myself and do it instead of me messing around with it.

Well if they're saying that the drivers side is bent then the passenger side definitely is aswel as passenger side looks more extreme in the pics.
