cant answer which would sound better as that's personal preference, but I had a 4-2-1 manifold and a straight through, sounded really good, but be careful with hoffman they do the job and sound good, but don't last very long as they aren't stainless steal

depending what vtr you have it may decat it anyway but you should do the whole exhaust system why do you want to only do part of the system?

Again I wouldnt like to say, I felt a difference when I put my 4-2-1 mani on, but not sure if that was the mani or the decat, but I felt the gains was more than when I put the straight through on, but I also had a different VTR to you so again it could be different.

no worries mate id get the 2000+ one just saves having to buy a de-cat pipe and having one less join in the exhasut means one less place it cant blow from lol
