bottom ball joint
Right attempted my engine and driveshaft change today. Got to the stage where the engine is ready to come out, apart from the drive shafts still being attached. Un-done everything but i can't for the life of me the get bottom joint out the hub! I've been going at it with two hammers and fucking great crowbar for about half an hour with no joy. I've soaked it in wd40 so leaving it for a few minutes for that to do its job. But is there any specific/proven way of getting off just out of curiosity, just to make my life easier!???? cheers

Hammering wont do anything as it just goes back into it's place after the hit.
I use a breaker bar, just wedge it into the half moon bit just above the frontal bush of the lower arm, then just push down. Works a treat every time.

I fitted some springs to my saxo at weekend and just used a massive wrecker bar and a big hammer to get the bottom ball joint out one side took a while it came out in the end.
Keep going at it or go and buy a ball joint breaker tool.

This is the easiest way by far, if you've put wd40 on it, it should come out reasonably easy using this method.

BJ splitters are the work of the devil, make a bloody mess of the BJ boot.
as Kris said, big bar and lever it down, also push the hub inwards whilst levering down.
