Default Cat's new AX

Got this from the Deep South where the live stock walk around with a worried look on Saturday.
60 quid of fuel did the 430 odd miles on the way back, although the brakes are shocking, the tyres are ditch finders and it was so gutless. Although it was a nervy drive back it was still oddly fun, reminded me of the simpler days, and it definitely made me appreciate the silverstones brakes, power and handling and it has f all power.

Any way here it is (nothing flashy for sure but always liked them)

No major hurry with this as got 3 years with the twingo at least so I can take my time although I want it clean and all rust gone as soon as apart from that no hurry!

Set about pulling out stuff so I can see what it's like under the trim, also removed the stupid mud guards:

Will be a slow progress tbh but slow is smooth and smooth is fast!

Not sure what to do tbh, probably not standard though as it's stupidly gutless.

I've always had a soft spot for these since my aunt had one back in the day, they've got that boxy charm to them, will you be keeping the bodywork standard or have u got plans for it?

Both options sound good ideas! Although probably would be leaning to the simpler 16v less work lol

Since it was a nice day tidy, thought I'd do a little more on the car.

Started with removing the carpet to have a look underneath, for the mojority looks ok, although I was wanting to remove a little bit underneath the pedals but looks like you need to remove more stuff to get it out so left that in for now:

Also took off the stuck on badges and a good bit if the stickers and bump strip, although lots of the sticky bits left as I got fed up picking it all off!

Had a look at the areas behind the rear lights and doesn't look as bad as I thought it might be:

Removed the spare wheel and cage so I can see what's gong on:

And lastly finally cleared my garage so it can stay nice and dry away from the rain!:

I appreciate the kind words buddy, was actually just going through your Xsi thread, hopefully the standard of work on mine will be remotely as good as on your xsi, if so I will be happy enough!

it should not be "that" slow, as they weigh sod all, 75 bhp should be ample, I know my first car as a 58 bhp diseasel was enough except for when you wanted to overtake!

personally I'd be dropping in a 1293 Rallye lump 100 bhp and lighter than the lump in there which would be Iron block afaik.
