it was a bastard.
the box is the head light adjuster motor.
you have to twist and pull to un-catch it then you have to pull. to be honest i didnt want to pull it as i was worried about damaging it (citroen want £40 + VAT for each of them) so i took the lens off and caressed it out from both sides

oh my god. this is the hardest thing i've ever done on the car. I pulled so hard and it didn't come off!!! for some reason it didn't break either. I just pulled harder and harder until it came flying out and I fell over

you have to heat the silicone sealent up with a hairdryer and get a flat headed screwdriver into the gap and prise them apart.

Yeh you should be able to do it without removing the lens but if u are afraid of breaking it at least the lens gives you another ooption

if i took this box off would i be able to put the lamp back on the servo? as i dont really want to open the whole unit up
