Default engine clean

Cant remember the name of it to save me life lol.

Was advised of a system clean that cleans all engine out better on performance and fuel consumption and also emissions on co2 etc. Cleans injectors and god knows what else Cost about £120

Anyone know the proper name to this ??

forte is good stuff, mind you the 1 litre bottles of redex in half a tank does a tidy job, don't mess about mesuring it out and whatnot, it wont do sod all. dump a good load of it in there and it will sort it out.

BG44K fuel system cleaner is the best i have used, but exspensive.

but a tank of good quality fuel will do a similar job really. lots of detergents in them nowadays.

i have always said the best thing to clean this kind of stuff, is a small brush and a can of carb cleaner. pull the injectors and rail, and go to town, pump won't usually need cleaning in any way, self-cleaning in a way really.

new fuel filter, grab some cheap mineral engine oil, do an oil change, replace 1 litre with auto 'box oil (yes it will be fine, have done for years, and much less aggressive than an engine flush and lubrication will be perfectly fine) do about 150 ish miles, and then a service with good fully synthetic oil and another new oil filter and that will be the best you can do imo.

putting a litre of auto 'box oil in with the engine oil has done wonders for me, freed a few sticky oil rings before now with it, i usually dont abide by this kind of thing, but i do swear by it, it has a lot of detergents in it and does a decent job while not going to town on all the bloody seals.

i suppose the engine will be as clean as it can be really without pulling it all apart imo.
