yo yo, started modding my new 1.1i sax, wondering which engine to stick in, VTS or VTR and how much work is involved.

if your changing it then mighrt as well get VTS

pretty easy actually, providing you know what your doing and dont cut corners and get things on the "cheap".

The actual change itself is really easy, you can have it done in about 1 day or 2 at the most.

i dont think you can change the dials only, i think you have to buy the clocks complete, then change dials

I don t know how it works on MK1 version but i have a MK2 1.1 and i stuck a MK2 VTS engine in and changed the clocks for MK2 VTS clocks and the temp gauges on either side of the clocks dont move. They work and all the lights appear, but they just dont do anything

after counting wires in the back i realised the loom was missing a few more wires compared to what the VTS loom has

u going to have to get some pics of it, through the stages, see what ur doing!!

And obviously the finished beast!!

U just going to use a standard vts with upgraded cams, is that it?

U got any other plans for the engine??

a fairly simple change but you must uprate everything including brakes and suspension as your 1.1 wont be up to the power the vtr/s puts out.
