yo yo, started modding my new 1.1i sax, wondering which engine to stick in, VTS or VTR and how much work is involved.

if your changing it then mighrt as well get VTS
pretty easy actually, providing you know what your doing and dont cut corners and get things on the "cheap".
The actual change itself is really easy, you can have it done in about 1 day or 2 at the most.

cos im fully kitting up my mk1, the appearance is gonna be sweet, im only pissed about the engine size so i thought id drop in a 1.6 vts engine.
can get one of ebay with uprated cams for £300

i dont think you can change the dials only, i think you have to buy the clocks complete, then change dials
I don t know how it works on MK1 version but i have a MK2 1.1 and i stuck a MK2 VTS engine in and changed the clocks for MK2 VTS clocks and the temp gauges on either side of the clocks dont move. They work and all the lights appear, but they just dont do anything
after counting wires in the back i realised the loom was missing a few more wires compared to what the VTS loom has

im gonna go to my nearest citroen garage and ask them how to do a full convert, my bodykits arriving on tuesday and i hinted to my old man about the sale on at halfords (alloys!).

U just going to use a standard vts with upgraded cams, is that it?

yeah, bodykit getting put on then sprayed, think thats done now, then its gettin moved the garage i got it from for a full "proper" service, the back brakes locked up about 2 days after i got it. fucking used car salesmen!

a fairly simple change but you must uprate everything including brakes and suspension as your 1.1 wont be up to the power the vtr/s puts out.

ok, bodykit was meant to be done today, but apparently i only asked the guy to fix a dent in my bonnet. but why the hell would i take my bodykit in as well?!! pics delayed till next week sometime
