Hi all,
Just picked my VTS up from the garage after it was in getting the GMAX 55mm kit fitted. The car is on standard 15's but there's a 3/4 of an inch gap between the top of the tyre and the arch!!
Should it not be lower than that?
Also do you hear more noise going over bumps etc when it's been lowered?
Cheers
Ali.

is it lower than before? also springs take time to wear in and settle to their normal height so give ti a few weeks.
You will probably hear more noise going over bumps due to stiffer suspension components so things will feel it a bit more but knocking noises etc... are not normal

Scott,
Not really lower than before. I've just bough the car and it had lowering springs on it already, but they only looked about 35mm. It now looks the same as before. Surely a 55mm kit even with 15's should be tight to the arch?

they will need time to settle in but how do you know the springs before were not already 55m? also what model of car as lower models dont have as heavy an engine to get the full drop on springs

Scott,
I'm certain they were not 55mm springs as there was a gap of at least 3/4 of an inch between the tyre and the arch.
It's a VTS 2003 model.

I was speaking to a chap at R-Tec on Saturday , when I had my car lowered and he said that Gmax springs are renowned for being either up on what they say they are or down on what they say! But, I work in Halfords and ive never heard of any other problems of that kind before now!
