4-2-1 or 4-1 mani???
for my vtr 2001 (cat on mani), which manifold is better for the VTR out of the above 2, i still want to gain good accelleration but also wana gain a bit on the top end.

8-valves are all about the torque, so go with the 4-2-1, since 4-1 promotes top end power, and you'll get more of a kick on the 8-valve by playing to its strengths.

4-1 is more suited to a track style situation keeping the revs high to keep the power as that is were it works best (depending if that's how you drive LOL)
on road a 4-2-1 is better as it gives more mid range revs which is what you'll be using more

Lets be honest here, neither manifold is going to drastically change the characteristic of the engine and its power delivery. Either design, as long as its a good one will allow the engine to breath better and should increase power.
Pound for pound you can't beat the raceland.

Ive had both on my 2002 VTR and i would strongly recommend the supersprint 4-2-1 manifold

Or a raceland if you want to spend less money for the same result.

The supersprint is alot better build quality
And using the raceland you will have to convert to the mk1 oil filter

the raceland vts manifold has been proven to run up to 189bhp, it could well have the capacity to do more. i cant believe the vtr one will be any more restricted, so i know which i would use.
