mate i own a massive body shop and motorsport prep company... i no what am talking about correct way to do alloys is as follows...
sand down/ paint strip wire brush/ sand/shit blast
pannel wipe
2k etch primer, bake off in booth,
sand with 240,
pannel wipe,
2k primer (5/6 coats) bake off in booth,
spray with guide coat
sand with some p500wet proper automotive stuff not wicks shit.
pannel wipe and tack wipe,
apply 5/6 layers of base coat,
5/6 layers of 2k laquers. bake off. done.
that is the correct way to paint anythiing. all 2k items are alot stronger then anything you will get in a rattle can, the finish will always be million times better/glossy as been used with a proper spray gun (my guns are like 300quid each) and a booth are over 10grand...
you have done a good diy effort and they look good dont get me wrong but not the "correct professinal way". am not been smart with you just giving u insight into proper automotive refinishing, if u look about on here you will come a cross my work alot.
